Ever wondered why band T-shirts are so expensive?

Mythos: Ragnarök is one of the few truly independent theatre shows in the UK. We have no grants, no funding, no promoter, no producer - we do everything ourselves and we pay for everything ourselves.

That goes for merchandise too:

We pay the designer, printer and storage company.
We transport the merch, set it up and sell it.
We market, promote and perform the show.
We buy the card readers and pay the transaction fees.

When it’s all said and done, the profit margin is pretty slim…and then along come the venues!

Venues invest nothing into our show, yet they take up to 30% of what we make by selling our own merchandise to our own audience, who found our show through our own marketing at a venue we’re paying to hire. If we’ve been booked by a promoter, they also take up to 20% of our merch money too!

It’s a well-documented blight on the arts and performance industries and it’s getting worse. Luckily, you can help us fight back by buying our merchandise online! We’ll either post it to you OR you can pick it up for free at one of our shows.
